What is a Success Coach?

Once you’re enrolled at WGU Academy, you’ll be assigned a Success Coach who will support and guide you throughout your time here. You’ll meet with your coach in one-on-one, personal coaching sessions.

What do they focus on?

Effective coaching doesn’t focus on correcting deficiencies but on learning, developing skills, and creating an environment that supports and sustains your commitments.

Like talented navigators, our Success Coaches help you harness your strengths while identifying gaps between where you are and where you want to be. They’re trained in coaching psychology and motivational interviewing, and use a non-judgmental approach. Your coach will serve as your advocate, your accountability partner, and your sounding board to guide you toward your goals.

Your Success Coach is your guide, but you’re in the driver’s seat. While personalized coaching often costs a great deal in other settings, your coaching experience here at WGU Academy is included in your tuition.
